“Devin Hester, You Are Ridiculous”
Chicago Bears play-by-play announcer Jeff Joniak said it best. Hester was an electric kick returner for the Chicago Bears, who had a nose for the endzone. For this piece, I wanted to incorporate a loose sketch style into a series of portraits that capture the process of a Devin Hester return, from catch to TD celebration!
Sketches:
I began with a series of pen sketches of various moments in a typical Devin Hester return.
Finished Illustration:
After I finished the pen sketches, I scanned them in, and began manipulating in Photoshop and Illustrator. Several hours later, I finished with the result above.
